应中国地质大学（武汉）资源学院李建威教授和李占轲副教授邀请，澳大利亚詹姆斯库克大学Paulus Dirks教授于5月27日至6月9日访问我校。期间，Paulus Dirks教授将开设研究生公选课
G020003《Archaean tectonics and lode gold deposits（太古代构造和脉状金矿床）》。该课程对矿物学岩石学矿床学、矿产普查与勘探、构造地质学、地质工程等专业的学生开放。开课时间为2018年5月28日-6月1日（周一至周五），地点：地勘楼826。该课程提供2个通选课学分。欢迎对太古代构造演化和脉状金矿床成因有兴趣的各专业学生选课或前来旁听！选课时间为5月22日-6月1日。不需要制定培养计划，可直接选择方案外课程完成选课程序。
Paulus Dirks现为澳大利亚詹姆斯库克大学（James Cook University）科学与工程学院地质学讲席教授（Chair Professor of Geology），经济地质研究中心（EGRU）主任。Paulus Dirks教授是一名构造地质学家和矿床学家，对古老克拉通和邻区活动带的地球动力学和构造史有研究兴趣，重点关注它们的构造演化历史及相关矿床的成因。他于1990年在澳大利亚墨尔本大学获得地质学博士学位，先后在澳大利亚Newcastle大学、荷兰Utrecht大学、津巴布韦Zimbabwe大学、南非Witwatersrand大学和澳大利亚James Cook大学从事地质学方面的教学和研究工作。Paulus Dirks教授学术成果丰厚，迄今在Science、Nature Geoscience、Geology、Economic Geology等地球科学及矿床学重要刊物上发表100多篇学术论文，SCI论文引用次数达3420次，H-index指数为32。
